Another worst refugee boat accident in Tunisia, 27 dead

Two migrant boats in Tunisia suffered a terrible accident, resulting in 27 deaths while dozens of people were rescued.

According to a report by the foreign news agency Reuters, the Tunisian National Guard said in a statement that the coast guard had recovered 27 bodies of people from African countries after two boats sank in the Mediterranean Sea.

The statement said that the boat accident occurred in the sea near the city of Esfax, from where most refugees from African countries leave to enter European countries.

The Tunisian National Guard said that the coast guard had rescued 87 people from the boat accident in Esfax.

Earlier, the Tunisian coast guard had recovered the bodies of 30 people who drowned in two separate accidents last month, whose boats sank while traveling to Europe.

Tunisia continues to face an unexpected refugee crisis as people trying to illegally reach Europe from African countries choose Tunisia as their departure point instead of Libya, and try to get out through it.
